The interest in the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is growing as the race approaches and those looking for some horse bets will do well to keep an eye on the latest developments.
The race takes place on Sunday 2 October and top trainer Aiden O’Brien has confirmed that his charge So You Think will take his place. The former Australian superstar horse is currently quoted as second favourite in the ante-post market with odds of 5/1 and will certainly attract plenty of horse betting support. The horse did hold an entry for the Champion Stakes at Ascot but the Arc is now the priority instead.
The odds for those placing horse bets were generally 7/1 before the confirmation from O’Brien of the run but those looking to take the plunge need to be aware that the horse will only run if ground conditions remain suitable. So a close check on the weather forecast may be merited before staking any wagers.
It should be noted that O’Brien has only won the Arc on won occasion when Dylan Thomas was successful in 2007.
Meanwhile, the other competitors in the race seem to in good form at home. The current ante-post favourite is Sarafina.
The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained daughter of Refuse to bend has a good turn of foot and produced a superb display to clinch the Prix Foy at Longchamp. The horse betting odds being quoted are 7/2 and this can still be considered as decent value given the potential shown by this smart animal.
Another that has been spoken of in glowing terms is Nathaniel. The three-year-old John Gosden-trained bay colt is available at 11/2 and has produced some stunning displays to clinch 3 wins and 3 second place finishes in just 6 races.
